Mate I know this all to well, last couple of times when I've fished off Oliver's hill I have found one each time  very disappointing... I think about it every time I go out with my kids. Definitely need to keep an eye out for them these days.

Try working in Dandenong....
We keep hardboxes and pick up tools in our utes, often find a few around the sports pavillions. My best tally was 11 at keysy reserve.

I know a work mate who sat on one of these needles at st kilda beach and had to wait weeks for bloodtest and he was all paranoid waiting for result. It doesnt sound so bad hearing this things but when a victim tells thier story it sends chill down my back. He turned out ok but it affected his sleeps and feeding pattern during the waiting period. Just be careful guys
