Fishing on Phillip Island
Hi All,
I'm taking my kids up to Phillip Island next month and I am looking for somewhere safe to fish.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Fishing on Phillip Island
If you want to catch fish, as opposed to catching weed and loosing sinkers, give Rhyll jetty a shot.
I've fished both spots over the years and have always done better at Rhyll. I also think it's a bit
safer for kids.
If the ferry isn't there, then anywhere off the end is good. If it's moored, then try the fishing the 'shoreward'
side of either the left or right side (depending on wind and tide)

Adults shouldnt be fishing there let alone kids wtf is wrong with you man
the OP has specifically mentioned kids and safe spots, both will never apply to punchbowl rocks ever.
cowes pier is probably the best and safest of all the ones there.

x2....a lot of people have been washed off Punchbowl. Even on a good day a freak wave can get you if your not watching. Cowes pier for sure (can get the kids an icecream as a bribe)purple5ive wrote:are you serious man??rb85 wrote:Punch bowl rocks, Cowes/Rhyll/Newhaven/San Remo Pier's, Cleeland Bight, Woolamai Beach, Flynns Reef

Re: Fishing on Phillip Island
Punchbowl rocks me and my mate have fished both the left and right many times and I must say it's definitely not for kids. Especially the walk down to the right side with a section of that walk being very narrow and a steep drop of about 50 metres down to the rocks below!
No railing or anything. Very dangerous! I haven't been back for quite sometime but that's how I remember it...
