Jells Park?

Post by ChrisD » Mon Jan 16, 2017 9:42 am

Hi All - I don't normally ask this but has anyone had any recent luck at Jell's Park?
I have to be down there soon for something else and thought about taking the rod - just try to assertion if it is worth the effort or not.
Thanks

Nuscani

You can pull up some very big carp there, and if you go at night you can pull up some nice eels as well. However there are so many bats there so be very careful.

I grew up in the area and live up the road. I've never actually seen anyone catch a fish there, but it must have carp in it.

I go riding my bike on the trail through there often & take the dog & I've yet to see anyone catch anything there ( & I've been going there for almost 20 years).
But as Dougie says there Must be Carp there.

I was there a few months ago, was there most of the day using powerbait and a small hook.
There was a guy there who caught a tiny Redfin on live bait and kept it.
That's all I've seen there but heard reports of Carp and eel in there.

I fished there about 2 years ago. Saw a guy land a monster carp on corn. My son and I caught 6 eels using worms for bait. Have also heard the lake may have Roach .... ;)

In the mid eighties we used to regularly get a feed of reddies there. Must be some there unless the carp have eradicated them.

Hey, I was wondering if Jells park lake is clean enough to keep fish from and do you know if there are any yabbies there?
