I heard you're no good at pulling in anchors either. Put the rope in upside down and it gets tangled
I didnt think it matters if anchor rope gets all knotted up

G'day fellow northern suburbian non boat owner! Can I ask why u want in on a boat? Landbased is great (well freshwater I am not at all a fan of piers) it's also a lot cheaper.
Welcome anyway, keep an eye out cause there are a few blokes on here who do offer the deckie spot from time to time

Not a bad option either. No ramp fees, no need to wash down, no fuel and you can access most parts of the bays easily enough.
Every now and then you catch a fish too.

Join a local fishing club,let them know you dont have a boat but enjoy fishing. They are always wanting deck hands.

Welcome to the forum
Boating is fun but it does not come close to fishing landbased and eventually seeing good results imo. I've owned 4 boats but gave it all up for landbased fishing. Yeah you will catch more on the boat, but every fish landbased is worth 10 from a boat hahaha that's just my opinion

I think it all comes down to freedom, where you want to fish and what you want to catch.
I've had a few good hauls of fish come into the boat in the past but coming up short recently.
But always bring 2 big eskis of fish home when i go to bermagui. On the annaul trip up there.
I've been reading post about land base catches and some people hit the spot and some don't.
I prefer to be able to move around easily if I don't get a bit.
Each for their own.

That's one of the advantages of having a boat you are able to chase if one area isn't producing. With land based you have to either draw the fish to you or know when the fish will be in the area. Each has different challenges associated with it. No right or wrong answer and will come down to how each individual is wired.
