I've not fished there but I know a bloke who knows a guy who says there are some of the biggest carp he's ever seen in his life around that part of the Marby river!

I'm not sure what other species would frequent that part of the river but it would be well worth a try.

Hi Vinhii, are you sure of redfin is in there ... I always hear that there is very less to NO redfin in maryb river ... that would be a very good news to those who live in north west area if it confirmed.

ill confirm the exact location if i can by tonight.
i just remember him catch redfins along the river,.. he caught a decent sized one when i was there.

My kids love it down at Brimbank park, but I've never fished the river there. I have my kids for a week of the school holidays and thinking of heading out for a fish for at least a few of those days (weather permitting). Would be planning on throwing a couple of lines in with some corn for the kids to get onto a few carp and I'd be keen to get onto some redfin if they're around. What lures are good for redfin? I have stuff all fresh water experience but I'm keen to get into it.
