Re: Refuge cove
Will certainly do. Will be fishing to wind conditions so if it's a north westerly we will likely make the trip around to the glennies. HOPING for a kingfish. Never have caught one before.bowl wrote:Make sure to take pics.Kimtown wrote:Yeah he has, just the once and he went out in average conditions toobowl wrote:Has the captain of the 6.5 Meter boat done this trip b4, be his call if ya go or not ?
We are leaving tonight and coming back saturday morning now
12.7 knots north easterly is the highest we are forecast to expect during this time frame. 15 knots is my limit before I pull the pin.
I'll be calling most of the shots on the boat anyhow as I've had the most fishing and boating experience of everyone on there.
Does anyone know if you can get KGW in refuge? It's hard for me to imagine that you can but I'm told they are there as well as squid.
@ratbag thanks mate! Willyweather is saying it's not too bad but fishranger says its close to gale force saturday and Sunday... I dunno, usually I trust fishranger but hoping it's way off this time. Still a while away until Saturday stuff can change

Re: Refuge cove
Definitely squid, not sure about whiting. There are heaps of yakas in there though, especially at night and early morning. Good size on some of them to, make great baits.

Welp launched the boat... couldn't get over 5knots without the motor dying. Mate reckons the motor has been running fine but just got back from a tune and service... definitely a fuel issue.. obviously they ****** something up.
2 strokes and carbys lol.. this is why I'm a 4 banga man

We did think that, we put fresh fuel in but who knows if it had water in it. We still think it's a carby issuesmile0784 wrote:Bad fuel?
