Thunderstorm at the top of port Phillip bay yesterday (17/11/17).
Do you think that thunderstorms (prior and after) affect fishing, or is it something else that gives fisherman an excuse when we don't catch anything.
I went to my local ramp this morning and 2 guys bagged out an small pinkies, 3 others didn't get a bite, and 1 other got 2 nice snapper. All started fishing prior to sunrise.
I dropped into my local bait supplier with at least 35 years experience and he said (prior to me giving the fishing report) that fish group very tight after a thunderstorm and I guess this morning results confirm this.
The snapper have been on the chew lately and were missing this morning. Can we blame the thunderstorm? Your thunderstorm theories / thoughts.
Thunderstorm affect on fishing.

Re: Thunderstorm affect on fishing.
Main thing with thunderstorms is to not cast too far from your boat because the fish will all be sheltering under it to keep out of the rain.

I love fishing for Salmon right on the cusp of a storm.
Had some monster sessions at the gunn when the rain is pouring, and the thunder is rolling..

Putting that one in the dad joke bank. Interesting topic though...what does the barometer do around storms? How does lightning effect fish in close proximity of a strike?4liters wrote:Main thing with thunderstorms is to not cast too far from your boat because the fish will all be sheltering under it to keep out of the rain.

Got to love the calm before a storm. Not looking for pinkies though.
