Pirtek Fishing Challenge 2013

Post by Rod Bender » Tue Feb 05, 2013 11:13 pm

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone is going to enter this event this year? I have thought about it other years but ended up not entering. Am going to enter it this year unless I end up working. I believe it is a great concept!
thanks
Jim

yes mate - quite a few of the kayak guys are doing it this year and it's my second year in
this year I beleve they are posting the species to catch earlier this time ,last year we didn't know what to target fish till the night before
It made it hard to plan the trip

still at a $20 entry and going to prostate cancer its worth all guys to get behind even if you cant get out to fish

by the way Jim I still use the brag mate from last year from time to time - its just the thing for those that haven't got something to measure a bigger redfin than yours . lol
My kayak PBs
Gummy shark 128 Cm - Elephant fish 85 Cm - Snapper 91 Cm - KG Whiting 49 Cm - Flathead 55 Cm - Garfish 47 Cm - Silver Trevally 40 Cm - Long Tail Tuna 86 Cm - snook 64 Cm - Couta 71 Cm - Sth Calamari 44 Cm hood - Cobia 117 cm

Hi Jim, thanks for posting the link, it looks like a great comp. I wonder if they have a category for starfish? I might be in with a chance if that's the case lol.

Correct!!!! I am going to enter and if I can't fish, bad luck! They must get a lot of support from sponsors. From what I understand all of the money ($20) goes to the fund.

I'll be in. The hat and brag mat has got to be worth $20 anyway and the money goes to a good cause.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
