That was today (Monday), I posted about 15 mins after I boated him, I was pretty stoked and it beats my PB by 1cm although today's fish was pretty young and light weight for the length, I didn't weigh it but I reckon only between 4 and 5kg. Still, my neighbour cooked up half of it tonight on the BBQ and it was really good tasting and still firm and juicy. I don't normally rate snapper on the plate but I usually freeze it first and that ruins it I think.

In summary, there were about 20 boats out from corinella today, half went north and fished around the same place as me. Spoke to a few other on the ramp and 2 out of 4 had boated a snapper. So I guess it's early but they are about already. Also got 2 just size gummies and kept one. Whole pilchard and squid rings were bait of choice and bite time for snapper was about 30 mins out of 7 hours on the water, 99% of it was slack or ebbing. 7-10 meters of water, 14 degrees.

Chris seafarer: 2 seasons ago i was fishing from warneet and found we got on to them early in about 10m of water, just south of joes is in the top end. Have been launching from corinella and newhaven for a while now though.
