Yeah the idea is to get new people involved. Most of the guys in it this year were in it in previous years. Might snag a few fresh members by having the vip as part of the entry.

Due to the nature of the Comp and different seasons etc I think It works better over the course of a year. Can't remember if you've entered in the past but the first one wasn't a full year and it was determined it needed to go for longer.

Basti is leading the Comp and he doesn't have a boat. Just a keen angler.

Yearly meet ups are hard enough to organise let alone monthlys.

Yeah was aware of all the above you have mentioned. just thought id throw it out there.
i was only in the first one that you organised. the species list for me are very few, and im not interested in chasing many of the mentioned fish on the comp for personal reasons. so i didnt bother with the comp. and wont bother entering in the future ones either

Yeah there's no ******* way i'm organising meetups.

This comp isn't really supposed to be fair to everyone. Some people are going to have an advantage. It's supposed to be a test of the best all round angler (out of the entries obviously). Landbased, yak, boat, whatever.

I'm also not sure about the 10 freshwater species. Does anyone really enjoy fishing for roach or river black fish?

I don't see any need to change the rules although teams in pairs could be good, would also help those who fish only fresh or salt.

I'd b keen for team comps even perhaps a once a month meet up comp, one day event. Biggest fish takes the prize. Or push it over 12 months n see who's the winner then.

Either idea sounds like a different comp. would be happy to see them off the ground and still have a species comp..
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!
