G'day Jared don't fish landbased often but somewhere like port Albert pier would be worth a go get yourself some black magic circle Hooks learn to tie dropper loops and make your own paternoster rigs or a dropper loop attached sinker to a whiting hook 500mm from the sinker loop. Similar to the whiting snatchers and whackers.

Cheers mate. I'd love to go land based less, except I don't have a boat which bums me out. I'll give port Albert a go and let you know how I go

Get yourself a light surf rod like a Catana coastspin and have a crack at them from the beach or places like Portarlinton.

Mine can flick a 1oz star sinker a fair distance and a 10lb twisted dropper paternoster with size 6 Owner Mutu circles has accounted for quite a few whiting for me.

You can get them off the beach at reef island just south of Coronet Bay at the end of soldiers rd.
