Re: Winches..cables..

Hi Bowl, looks like the outside rollers on the easyguide are too long and catch the strakes on the hull, maybe you can trim them down a bit. I use a winch strap on my 4.5m tinny and have no problems at all.

Re: American Honey (Wild Turkey) V Jacks

I just finished a Jim Beam & Pepsi Max, not a bad combination, the taste improves if you have a few, and no sugar so healthy for you.

Metung fishing report

With the long weekend and reports of whiting getting caught around Metung I went down to have a look. I arranged an extra day off since the forecast for Tuesday (today) was so good. I launched at Paynesville and did the run across Lake King to Metung. I certainly caught my share of whiting, unfortun...

Paynesville report

I went out from Paynesville today to see if there were any duskies around. There was only 1 other trailer in the car park when I launched the boat at 8.30 am so I did not get my hopes up that there was a hot bite going on. The water temp was 15.5 C which I think is still too cold. Tries all my usual...

There biting at Paynesville take 2

Hi All, Yes there biting at Paynesville, the march flies seem to be and about early this year, but the flatties are around too, water temp is 18.6 to 19.4 depending on location. I went out Tuesday this week and caught 4 duskies, the biggest was about 63 cm and is out there still swimming. Cheers Ango.

Re: There biting at Paynesville take 2

Hi Tackleberry, No problems with the Sedona, it's nice and smooth, the drag is only a single washer but seems to work OK for flatties, I need to catch a big salmon to give it a proper workout. If drags have problems I usually fix them with Carbontex washers and Teflon grease but so far the Shimano's...

Re: Show us your purchases!

Hi all,
I went to BCF and took advantage of their sale to stock up on SP's, I bought 3 packets of Berkely Powerbait for $20. I need to get them cheap because when the tailer are about they chop them up real quick.
Cheers

Re: Cruise ships

Hi Purple. If eating & drinking are your thing then you will love it, but you can only do so much of that. I don't mind my own company which is why I go fishing on my own sometimes but I also have fun getting out with mates too. I found the constant press of people on the cruise all the time a bit m...

Re: Job keeper plan

Yeah, the JobSeeker Payment is worthwhile at the moment. I have never bothered before but now they have doubled the amount to $510.80/fortnight each for a couple. I applied online on the 29/3 and it got approved on 9/4 which is pretty quick. While my super has been trashed and I am also forced to do...
