Re: Diver killed by speeding boat

Saw an article on the ABC confirming they had dive bouys and flags. The flags on those floats aren't very big and they can be knocked over by waves so you'd see nothing more than the orange float. The cord is usually 20+m long and isn't retractable. If the grapevine is right and the boat was travel...

Re: Diver killed by speeding boat

As far as I am aware there is not any laws that prohibits a boat operater from being within 100m of a diver down flag, the law reads that the boat operater must travel no faster than 5knt within 100m of any diver down flag. In other words just use common sense, avoid divers if possible and If you m...

Re: New 2019 Yellowfin

They certainly look the part. But they're still a Telwater boat and hull shapes wouldn't be all to different to previous models. Find a couple of 1-4yo Yellowfins and see how they've held up after some use. At the show compare to Mclay, extreme, stabi, barcrusher and other plate boats. End of the da...

Re: The new Stradic......

Good day I'm about to ask a really uneducated question. Why is a high gear ratio such a drawback. Can't you just wind slower? (I'm sure there's an obvious reason so I'm interested to find out). Cheers, Col. Lower gear ratios offer more torque when fighting large fish and where raw line retrieval pe...

Re: Strike Tiger sp problems

Some plastics react with other plastics including the tackle trays and melt, zmans and the old snapbacks are especially good at it. Only way to stop it is store the strike tigers in their packaging

Thanks croe for the advice. I did a little googling and couldn't find any reported issues regarding spinnerbait skirts, so still interested to hear if anyone has first hand experienced issues (or no issues) with storage of skirts and zmans.
They melt the skirts too.

Extract from marinebusiness.com Victorian boat builder bought out of liquidation by previous owners. Victo...
