Boof Diary 2019

Since the debacle at the Codference my closest friends have told me that I’ve changed, that I don’t mix with people and rarely smile. Thanks everyone for your support. I made the posts detailed so I could share as much info as I could. Unfortunately, the pics aren't great and don't do the fish justice. In other people's shots on the net big cod on boats next to people well they look huge, particularly with a wide angle lens or hel...

Stkilda pier plastics session

Been having a fair bit of success at stkilda pier lately hence my frequent posting :P managed about 10 pinkies this morning, all released, though for once none of them were undersized , a few were 40cm+ which I guess makes them snapper, great fun on 6lb line. Got them on Zman 3inch slim sw...

Re: Boof Diary 2019

Nice weekend away Will! What are your thoughts/experiences on having a headtorch on while throwing lures at night? Of course its preferable not to interfere with the natural darkness - but sometimes its unavoidable to be putting casts into the right spot. Have you noticed any possible impacts to boo...

Lexa, Tranx and Curado

As I indicated recently in my 2019 boof thread I had an issue develop with my Tranx 301 baitcaster. On my way home from that trip I called in at Boats and More in Shepparton and had a long chat with Terry Phillips. Terry is a wealth of information having caught a lot of big cod, barra up north and b...

Re: Boof Diary 2019

Will you continue to fish right through until the closed season Jim, if the weather is good I might head up to the Murray the week after next. That might be it. I tend to give the cod a rest after early June, leave them alone to prepare for spawning. If there is some nice weather I might start scou...

Yarra snapper

Yet another successful outing today, been fishing pretty hard around the city lately and getting consistent results  Fished large soft plastics in the yarra around richmond early this morning and managed a nice snapper of 54cm. Fought very hard for its size too, thought it was a decent jew...
