Re: The big squid (on instagram)
It's a nice squid. It's an even better forced perspective. Looking at the guys hands i'd guess it's about a 35cm hood.

Re: Getting the green paint out - Snapperhead
Again a Policeman : A BIG reason for their "anonymity" is so that they and their families are safe in their personal lives. It has been bantered a few times before that modes get threatened, even death threats , , , , so anonymity protects them and their family AND allows the Mod to do his job and ...

Re: Getting the green paint out - Snapperhead

Dougie, you may or may not be aware but another member of this Forum contacted me about you. He thought that with your, then, upcoming trip to the W...

I have had one very serious threat from a past member who got himself banned by one of the other Mods. So much so that he threatened to meet me down at Port Welshpool... plenty ...

Re: Punch bowl
Punchbowl in over a metre of swell is just asking for it. I hope this person is ok but on a day like today there is really no reason to go down there. I am a massive advocate of rock fishing but you need to be aware of the dangers of situation. I wrote a long post about rock safety, there is a link ...

Re: Punch bowl
I haven't seen any actual news but if they havne't found him yet he's almost certainly dead.
Wear rock boots and a life jacket, don't go rock fishing in over a metre of swell and if you're inexperienced or physically compromised don't go alone.

Re: Punch bowl

I fished there once and never bothered to go back. If you're interested in that area, you can actually walk from San Remo all the way to Ki...

Re: Rock life
A couple of people PM'd me about getting into this kind of fishing and what kind of spin gear they should look at. I'll put the response here to avoid having the same conversation a bunch of times. This response is an answer to a question about a budget of 3-400 for a beginners kingspin setup. I don...

Re: Come across this
I say nah without a way of scales since i highly doubt that a whiting rod would handle 15kg. Edit: i just looked at my shakespear wild series whiting rod and its a 1 to 4kg rod that means that fish would be over its limit by 11 to 14kg's easly snapping a carbon rod. The rod https://www.fishingtackl...
