Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes-Winters Coming.
Winter is coming, and sadly the grass was (and still is) too wet to cut so I thought that I'd nip across to the back of Raymond Island for a couple of hours yesterday arvo, despite a breezy south westerly which would make the transit a little lumpy (read quite rough) once past the northern shore of ...

Paynesville Jetties
Checked the shrimp traps this morning whilst out walking Jimmy dog and collected enough (30-40) for a short session . So as it was such a nice morning, and the fact that there were no recent reports on the forum to peruse , I thought I'd wet a line. Fished the Fort King jetties for a couple of hours...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Suitably motivated after reading the post by re-tyred above, there was a change of program in the Pirkz household yesterday, and after a few essential tasks (domestic chores and walking Jimmy dog), I could be found launching at Fort King (again), and by 1100 anchored up over an old Navionics pin mar...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Good job, nicely played re-tyred. I assume around the same old Flanangans Island spot ? (Note to self - just re read the original post so this is a rhetorical question!) Fished Sat around there for very little using prawn and there was an armada out there - not sure what they caught but plenty of mo...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Re-tyred very nice. Went out with a mate but arrived late at 1030. Think I saw you just packing up for the day. Joined an armada of 10-20 boats and caught ....donuts! Moved around a bit and ended up on the Nyermiling bank for a bit and then Nungurner in 11m before matey had to head home around 2pm. ...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
sandef and Bombers93 the boat ramp at Nungurner is more of a shallow concrete slipway more suited to dinghies.I have launched a 4.3m Quintrex there though access can be difficult if others are parked up around the very limited parking area i.e maybe room for 4-6 trailers. Much easier to launch at Me...
