Re: McLoughlins Beach
Troy McLure, yep lockdown sucks. And living in East Gippsland certainly has some advantages though MCL is still a fair haul from Paynesville. One reason for posting text along with the repetitive (though not so exciting) pictures at times, is to try and create a sense of a potential piscatorial adve...

Re: McLoughlins Beach
So mostly quiet still on the Board so thought Id post this short report from Mcloughlins Beach yesterday. Breezy day and a bit cold at 15 or so for shorts but a good day out. Tried a few spots for an early flatty with no joy other than this large Ray, (returned) and roamed the entrance for a sambo o...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Also fished yesterday - launched Paynesville (1030 ish) and fished Metung point for nowt before moving and stopping at the usual spot off Nungurner as I couldnt be bothered to go further - even though I could see a few boats up by Nyerimilang bank. 2 hr session gave up 9 KGW keepers (28-30 and 1 @ 3...

Re: McLoughlins Beach II
With predicted bad weather forecast for later in the week (like today onwards for example) decided to head down to MCL with my offsider and his boat once more on Tuesday. Met by calm conditions and a blue sky. Target was flathead for the table and anything else that came along of course. Tide was st...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
re-tyred . Your inspiration created a bit of motivation this morning as after reading your post at 6.45 am, and planning a slow day organising my trip back to UK tomorrow, household events took a piscatorial turn for the better (plan B) and I was to be found off Nungurner lines in by 8am after launc...

Re: Lakes Entrance report
A very slow Tuesday here in a cold dank and rather gloomy UK (I can see why we emigrated now - though Im not sure about the 'twice' bit)! Limited fishing on offer and I dont really have suitable European (read offshore survival) gear, by which I mean multi layer thermal clothing - not tackle. I did ...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Thought the thread needed an update so flew back from UK early- 4 flights ( missed a connection in Singapore and got rerouted to Sydney then Melbourne - just what I needed after 2 flights already and a 12 hr leg), 38 hrs door to door and only 3 PCR tests needed and voila I was back on home turf. Lef...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Just to add. After walking the dog at Fort King to check the state of play at the ramp there ( relatively quiet as the off shore mob had departed much earlier) launched around 9 am with my better half and went across to Shaving Point with the intention of meeting my fishing offsider who had planned ...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
So started 2022 as I meant to go on (after all only 357 fishing days left to Christmas) and fished the last 2 days around the Metung and Nungurner areas with mixed results. Yesterday was a pretty slow day afloat and saw only 4 KGW taken home - all caught on squid in the Shaving point area in around ...
