Re: Mixed bag

Fished Nungurner on Tues and caught a similar mixed bag. Probably 20 or so KGW. Kept 9 KGW and returned a few others of size along with some gurnard as I didnt need to keep them for the freezer. Also fished the same spot today with a mate and was pleased to get 10 species all up. Most undersize but ...

Re: Mixed bag

kgw2.jpg Deja vu. Despite putting my back out yesterday and spending the day very quietly wishing it was Saturday already, I just couldn't face playing cards with the dog all day today so Tinnyed up and headed out to tease the residents of Nungurner once more (albeit looing a bit like the hunchback...

Re: Mixed bag

Fished Nungurner yesterday in the usual spot and pretty much bagged out on KGW - albeit in the 27-31 cm range- no biggies. Also caught a few of the usual suspects and took home several gurnard which proved good eating last night in tempura batter. Another boat was 50 m away and the lone angler was c...

Re: Mixed bag

So, as there will no doubt be bugger all posted to read over the next few days thought Id scribe a short missive for those who don't have a life and spend far too much time reading Forums such as this one ( I'm guilty as charged). Yesterday my fishing buddy came up from Toongabbie and after a Bairns...

Re: Mixed bag

After all the excitement of Lake Tyers opening today, I thought Id either have to have a lie down or go for a fish. Chose option 2, and spent a convivial 3 hrs with Mrs P at Nungurner, which saw 11 KGW keepers around 28-30 ish cm come aboard, plus a half dozen or so returned as just undersize. And ,...

Re: Mixed bag

Nice weather, so dropped the hat (see above), and in an attempt to avoid chicken for T once again, cruised (if you Cruise in an old 1999 Tinny ) across to the Nyerimilang area from Paynesville yesterday to hopefully meet up with a few of the usual suspects incl some KGW. Decided to ignore X & Y mark...

Re: COVID & fush stocks

And in case anyone is wondering fished Nungurner this arvo for 3 hrs. Bloody windy so launched at Metung but still endured a bit of a bounce to get across there. Used well tried cut n paste methodology from previous sessions but ....Nowt.. not even a bite ....just 2 nibbles. Will give the lakes fish...

Re: McLoughlins Beach- Salmon Run

So fearing another lockdown I decided to venture out (well) beyond the 5km limit and travelled down to Mcloughlins Beach yesterday with my fishing offsider and his boat. Lazy start as usual, arriving around 10am, as its a bit of a drive from Paynesville, and early mornings no longer agree with the f...

Re: McLoughlins Beach

Left Paynesville in the rain yesterday morning and headed down to fish out of McLoughlin's at Mann's beach as the forecast was dry and light winds. Target was salmon - mainly for sport, and had a good day over the 4 hrs we fished. Probably 40 fish between the 2 of us mostly on SP paddletails. Bigges...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes

Almost went back down to McLoughlin's today but chose instead to fish Nungurner. Forecast light breeze turned out to be pretty stiff NE'ly by lunchtime making it very lumpy fishing across the runout. Not much action. Score for the 4 hr session was 2 KGW - 24 & 29 CM, a small trevally and a crown of ...
