If you're new to boat fishing, best is to follow the crowds. Fish sunrise and sunset. Get Blackmagic whiting snatcher rig and you're set.
Usually there's always fish in 7-10 metres of water in front of clifton springs jetty. Good squid grounds too. Cast squid jigs and retrieve, or put under float.

Hey Gozzy, I found PPB really hard work this season so I've been fishing WPB instead. Fingers crossed for a good PPB snapper season next spring!

I think their numbers were decimated 15 20 years ago in westernport at one stage there was no bag limit people took huge numbers then a bag limit of 5 now its 1 per day. Sorry for my cryptic post. I was trying to point out that one person catching 60 whiting in a session appears to have exceeded their bag limit by 40?
