Re: ICC World Cup.

............. Anyone watched the final Tried to! I had 3 hours sleep late in the arvo thinking that would get me through comfortably but after about 40 overs of the NZ innings, I lost interest and went to bed. Checked the scores occasionally online and then realised it was going to be close. Then a...

Re: Shimano Quickfire graphite rods 1/2 price

Seb, as mentioned, Al is sponsored by Savage Gear. People's opinions will always vary. If you check out the thread regarding Ugly Stik rods on sale at Anaconda a few months ago, a member replaced all his Savage Gear rods cos he said they were crap. Everyone will have a different opinion and perhaps ...

Re: Media Release: 12 NEW PROJECTS FUNDED BY YOUR FISHING LICENCE FEES

We were at Snobs Creek hatchery today loading trout eggs into the Jordan-Scotty incubators. Jaala obviously needed a 'rent a crowd' for her announcement so we were it! Previously I have done well to avoid her during her visits to my work when she was the minister for ag. Anyway, she doesn't seem too...

Re: What’s Your Fishing Resume?

I grew up in northern Vic and started fishing (bait) with my dad. I found native fish hard to come by back then in the late 70's and 80's. I spent a lot of time also biking it around the local channels chasing redfin and the occasional trout with lures. The good old days...the only lures I generally...

Target One Million....is it working?

Hi all Whilst fisheries have a grand plan of attracting a gazillion people to fishing, I am wondering if they are achieving their goal? I have heard unnoficially that some research has pointed to the fact that the T1M campaign may not be attracting that many people to fishing. What have members here...

Scotty Jordan incubator loading.

Hi all Last week one of my mates talked me into going to Snobs Creek hatchery for the day and helping out with the loading/placing whatever, of trout eggs into the Scotty Jordan incubators. I first become aware of these when I attended my first 'Talk Wild Trout' conference. Basically, the fertilised...

Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TROUT LURE?

Mepps Aglia & Black Fury lures are my favorites (as if you guys wouldn't know :-D ) this season will be my 55th year of using them, each season 90-95% of the trout I catch are taken on them.. Impressive!!!! The new 'XD' spinners....try them without a plastic keel. They are identical to Panther Mart...

Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TROUT LURE?

You should have tried them out before!!! I think the blade design may also make them a bit more snag resistant as well.
Cheers

Re: A report about...nothing!

That was fun! Spent half the day at Numurkah targeting my elusive 1.5 metre carp that I have set as a goal...yep, I've raised the bar!!! Bait for the day was yabbies, one actually as it saw me through the day and it was released alive at the end of its tour of duty. May have been a different outcome...

Vic RFL to be reviewed!

Better late than never I guess! People who currently have exemptions may lose their exemption! Not a bad thing and they still may have a reduced price. I have a concession card...disability part time work only sort of thing. In Vic I am not exempt so pay my way. In NSW' I am exempt so don't pay....m...
