Re: Painting the town red. They're back!
Nice to see the sink is being put into some good use again :gj: wem21 .. Sir Snappalot is dammed thrifty that the car hired company was named after him - don't think a boat is his priority. Landbased has to be !!!! That being said, he could have used the help of the drone he purchased last year - al...

Re: Reel Recommendations
Spot on with the plastics, you rekon the fk would balance better than the c14+ on a 7'2 catana? Easy solved when you go to the shop grab a 72 catana try the ci4 on it then the fk/fl the daiwa emeraldas squid rod i use the ci4+ is a very light rod much lighter than the catana i bought a catana rod w...

Re: Reel Recommendations
I have a few different types of reels in 2000-2500 size, including a few Stradics, a solitary Ci4 and a couple of Daiwa BG's. I love each and every one of these reels and service them, myself, with Yamalube grease (inside), Daiwa oil and Cal's reel drag grease. I wipe them down with Inox on a rag. ...

Re: Reel Recommendations
BG is good but a bit heavy.
LT is nice and light, you can cast all day.
I'd go for Freams LT at $200.
It has magseal and the 2000 weighs only 190 gm.
I have one and wrote a quick review here. Absolute gem for the price. A good early mid range reel.

Re: Reel Recommendations
ci4 if you can get it for $200 then id go that over the freams LT,
if paying RRP then both are a great reel, all depends on personal choice..
stradic is def lighter, freams has more drag(useless in the bay tbh)
id have a play around with both and see which one you like personally and get that.

Re: Reel Recommendations
I used to fish plastics with a 6'6 glass rod and reel from Kmart with mono - didn't catch a thing, when I upgraded to a catana and the sienna with braid I started to really enjoy it, and catch fish as well. I'm just replacing the sienna because ever since it got dunked its gone on a downward spiral...
