Re: 2017 mercury 15 hp add regulator/rectifier
If your motor has a charge coil under the flywheel (likely) then the addition of a rectifier/regulator should be fairly easy. I think mercury usually use 2 purple wires for this connection, they will be coming out from under the flywheel and either plugged together or not terminated. I’m sure mercur...

Re: Help piece together bay fishing advice.
I would go for a floating, diving hardbody if your only chasing salmon/tailor or other mid/top water dwelling species. Because you are just dragging it around behind your canoe and potentially not paying much attention to that rod and lure (perhaps you are actively fishing another rod also) then whe...

Re: NBN plans...
Check out Aussie broadband. Reasonable prices and their customer support comes from native English speaking, local folks in morewell. The person that answers the phone is usually capable of fixing any issues without giving you the run around. Speeds seem fine and you don’t have to have a home phone ...

Re: New kitchen
Just be aware that drawers are far more expensive per carcass than cupboards. Especially the soft close types. I too liked all drawers till I saw the price delta. I don’t think drawers work in corner units either (for obvious reasons). I’ve helped design and install a couple of kitchens now and you ...

Re: Custom made roof rack? Does anyone know
I’ve put 2 kayaks on my roof racks before. It worked, just, and I wouldn’t recommend it. My kayaks are much smaller too but still quite wide (not real fishing or ocean going kayaks). It was awkward. Mine were side by side but on on their side (bums together). Had to strap each one down individually ...

Re: Setting up Sounder for WP. Are these true arches?
I'm trying to set up a lowrance elite ti7 sounder I just bought. For sounding I'm thinking of splitting the screen into 2, 1 side with x4 zoom for the bottom of the water column and the other screen in high chirp to show the full water column from surface to bottom. Does this sound right to have th...

Re: Paternoster rigging variations
I use cheap hobby tubing from $2 shop on my whiting paternoster rigs for the sinker dropper. About 150-200mm for the sinker dropper and 400mm for the hook. The tubing helps prevent the 2 from twisting together. I stole the idea from a pre made rig I saw once and it works well. Twisted loop droppers ...
