Re: Land Based Fishing Punch Bowl
Yes, i agree with what has already been said. Punchbowl is a very dangerous place to fish. I have wanted to fish there in the past but after doing some research my family have banned me from going near the place. Not worth the risk for a few salmon. A few people have been killed there as well.

Re: mordialloc pier fishing report
That was a good rant Tomcat and a point well made. Credit to you for being a part time garbo as well. As i have said before you get these pigs everywhere around the bay. They are not serious fishermen and probably only come out when they hear reports of fish on the bite.

Re: mordialloc pier fishing report
Brent, Wolly is right the pigs won't read your post... Everytime i go to Mt.Martha rocks during summer i fill a bag or two of much the same rubbish you mentioned. The car park has 2 large bins that the pigs can use but don't. I curse the grubs that Karma will not be kind to them on their next fishin...

Re: mordialloc pier fishing report
Nice catch Tomcat, well done....word gets out very quick when the fish are biting and the fishos will flock to the piers as i have experienced over the last few years at Brighton breakwall. Hopefully this season will be a ripper and there will be plenty of fish for all.

Landbased fishing Mt.Martha rocks
Fished Mt.Martha rocks this morning 5.30am to 8.30am. Westerly 20-25 knots and rough water was superb and light rain on and off most of morning. Fishing action slow landing 2 Aust. Salmon 1x40cm and 1x30cm on blue bait. Water temp was around 13 deg but i had to get out and see if any Snapper/pinkys ...

Re: Storing Fishing Rods/Reels in a Garden Shed
I have been storing my rods and all my fishing gear in my shed (3.5mt x 2.5mt) for the last 8 years without any problems. Made up some timber racks with hooks on one wall, similar to a gun rack to hang the rods. During summer the shed does get hot inside but i haven't had any gear fail me yet. I too...

Re: It's windy! best places to fish
You must be getting soft CarlG, lol. I must admit i don't get out as much as i did during the winter months. I have become more fussy and pick week ends when not too cold. Hanging bad for the warmer months not to far away now. :set1_fishing:

Re: It's windy! best places to fish
Great post Wolly, i agree the rough conditions bring in the fish. My favoured spots are Brighton, Mornington pier and Mt.Martha rocks. My family and friends think i am crazy to fish in 20+ knot winds. They just don't get it or the buzz i get when i land a nice one. They do like to share in my spoils...
