Re: Is this too specific?
I use my EGI outfit for a similar use to this, have caught everything to garfish to 5kg snapper on it. Its basically a 8ft Shimano Sephia rod, with a 2500 stradic ci4+ Thing has copped a beating but just keeps going https://www.bcf.com.au/p/shimano-sephia-bb-spinning-rod/M611659.html?dwvar_M611659_s...

Re: Gummy sharks bleeding techniques - how do you do it?
Next one I catch I plan on trying to sever the spine with a cut from under the jaw/gills to try and hit the heart at the same time. This is how I do it. Im not sure that its the best method, but haven't had any issues and always tastes good. Have done a lot of gummy's (for me anyway) this way, so d...

Re: good place to target whiting landbased
I reckon whiting are one fish thats def easier to target from a boat. If you are ever down Portland way, I have found casting into the bay side from the breakwall to be pretty reliable. Im excited because the last couple of years march/april have been my best months on the ting off Hastings. looks ...

Great report. Seems a bit and miss out in the big puddle. You either do really well, or get really frustrated

Re: Top End - Sat 27/10/18
Cheers for the report Scraglor. I'd take a gummy over a snapper any day. I don't fish WP at all so forgive me but do you find you don't have to line up things like sun up/sun down with tides for your best chance because of WP's tidal flow compared to PPB? Meaning the bigger flow brings more bait an...

Top End - Sat 27/10/18
Hi All, I haven’t posted a great deal for one reason or another. But the fishing has been pretty good over the last few weeks, so thought I would throw one up. Went out on Saturday for a bit of a gummy bash with my Dad, as we both prefer them too snapper. (We got on the board with them a couple of w...

Re: Rod or reel?
For lure fishing Both are equally important to me.. and so is the line I use.. what type of lure I use determines what type of rod I will pick and a reel to match.. Bait I really dont care anything will do me. That's because you like to use a nice reel on a nice rod because that's what you prefer. ...
