Re: NSW kayaker final moments :(
First thing is to not get separated from the kayak. I have a paddle leash that keeps me connected if I'm holding the paddle, and the first thing I grab for if the kayak gets a bit tippy is the paddle because you use it to brace and regain control. Once you get knocked out of the yak and go for a tu...

Re: Guess the Species
Couple hours fishing this morning on the yak, first time I caught this fish on zman slim swimz bad shad. Know what this is? I was told by someone what it is, thought I'd confirm here. Snotty trevally, or Warehou - marvelous eating, especially at bigger sizes. They come into PPB from Tassie winter a...

Anyone anticlimaxing much? I mean, I was frothing to soak a line during restrictions, and now that we can, I seem to have more important things to do... Could it be a case of man wants what man can't have?

Re: Best fish to eat?
Gotta be fresh, for starters, but my top three fish are mulloway, KGW, garfish, kingfish, blue eye trevalla (don't mind warehou/snotty trevally either), flathead, gurnard, sand whiting and coral trout, with flounder floundering in at a close fourth. Haven't tried Patagonian Toothfish yet; love to gi...

Re: WHAT ARE THE WORST FISH TO EAT?
I don’t mind Australian Salmon, Trevelly, always remove the blood line and cook with aromatics and herbs. Yakka can be really nice, but often overlooked similar to other species in the mackeral and herring families. I wouldn’t do butterfish or wrasse, I’m not that hungry. Bloke at work swears by wr...
