I used a Shimano Starlo Classix 662 Ultra Light Spin paired with a Sienna for a long time and it never let me down, should be in your price range

Thanks everyone Poodoo, I didn't see the seal anywhere but I wasn't paying much attention to the end of the pier where it usually hangs around - I was just walking up and down casting off the side of the pier. Drove down to Lorne on Sunday and spent a couple of hours fishing off the pier. Started off doing a bit of bait fishing with Mum but after getting two grass whiting in two casts decided that I'd go for salmon on plastics instead. Tied on a 1/8 jighead with a Keitech 3" easy shiner and dropped 3 fish...
