Re: Yarra River Report 19/11/19

Hi ChrisD - thought you left as you havent posted in ages Yes I am still around - just haven't been out fishing for ages. A little health scare, the shocking weather and life in general have had any fishing on the back burner. As the weather improves I hope to change all that and you will see more ...

Re: Yarra River Report 19/11/19

Good report - I have been itching to get the rods outs and hit the Yarra again. I have just been concerned that there is still too much water flowing down it at present - went past Warrendyte last weekend and it was fast, high and dirty. Hoping we get a break from this rain and it starts to settle. ...

Re: What’s Your Fishing Resume?

My uncle was a keen fisher and took me on my first trip when I was about four....don't recall where. Manage to catch a little redfin and was hook. Dad used to take us fishing when we went on holidays, not that he was much of a fisher, but he tried. I always recall him using his Blackqueen rod for ev...

Two points to start - *Well done Fisheries on stocking another suburban lake with Natives and trout - great work, looking forward to seeing which lake is next and just how many they end up doing. And *it was gre...

That's it.... I'm definitely a bite fisho

Spent a couple of afternoons on the Yarra this Easter weekend - throwing SPs, was determined I would finally work them out. But nope not a fish, no strikes or even follows. So I admit defeat.... I am clearly a bait fisho and I am just not going to crack the SP code. On the upside the river is flowin...

Re: Yarra recon and cod

Nice report Chris - Yarra access is always an issue, steep banks, muddy approaches, blackberries and scrub, bloody big tiger snakes.... or farm land blocking access. But when you work into some of those off the track spots the rewards are worth it. Furthest up I have heard of cod being seen was arou...

Re: SP jig head recommendations

Maybe tell us specifically what do you want to use sp for ChrisD. Per my first post - Location for fishing will of course be long the Yarra, if that makes a difference to the jig head. Trout & Redfin being the prime targets. Sorry another question - does using a snap/swivel make any difference to t...
