Re: Surprised at how "dead" this forum is.

Pre 2019 it was actually not bad. Many including myself have all but stopped posting here due to threads being constantly derailed by few repeat offenders. We have lost many valuable members due to this!! Pretty much. In the past I posted an essay length, fully photographed report every time I went...

Re: Large HB's for Reds - PPB shallow

The NSW crew here use those nomad hardbodies with the massive bib on them quite successfully trolling. The majority of the Snapps caught on lures i've seen are on plastics though.

Re: Flurocarbon vs Mono Leader

Squidding any 20lb leader is fine. I don't think it makes a huge difference. I like the shimano Tiagra stuff, it seems to be abrasion resistant. Easy to spend way to much on leader for no real benefit.

Re: Fireline

I tried fused lines for a bit but really really didn't like them.

Has there been any significant upgrades in the past 5ish years?

Re: Happy Mackerel Day

If you like targeting slimeys try any rocky outcrop of reef for 45 minutes just on first light. Use a slightly larger bait jig. There's always a ton of them around they are just extremely difficult to target during the day.

Re: Reel replacement advice.

The Sedona is a pretty decent choice in that range, take the extra $ and get some really good quality braid.

Budget info would be helpful. The little stradics are tops.

Re: Coffs Harbour to Tweeds

Thanks for the tip guys. I’ll definitely grab some and start trying them out. Blows my mind, anywhere you drop a line there is a bite, a catch some action. And then I think, I can go to the piers here and Vic for weeks and not even a bite. I blame the piers in vic, but it’s just probably me who can...
