Re: Shallow water bronzies

i look forward to seeing a pic when you get one. I've dropped so many toothies in wpb and recently Welshpool over the years. So yeah I'm looking forward to finally landing one. As it turns out the other hook is rigged up was a mustad 7699D. Touched them both up on the diamond stone. Livey has got m...

For the record I've rigged up a couple of big boi J hooks. An owner Jobu and something else that was in the tackle tray haha.

Re: Shallow water bronzies

Yeah sweet as. I'll crimp up a few tonight.

When you say a 10/0 do you mean a jobu suicide or just the standard big circles you can get?

Tie the balloon to the swivel/snap swivel a bit over the metre mark from the hook. You'll still get the occasional car bonnet sized rays/skate
So only run 1m of wire?

What size wire and hooks would you go with for the smaller units?

Shallow water bronzies

G'day guys. Have started dedicating a bit more time to going for whiting. Small sharp sessions on a single tide and have been getting good results. I'm going to start bringing out 1-2 heavier rods to drop bronzie baits out the back. In the past I'd fished dedicated sessions chasing them in deeper wa...

Re: micro trout lures

If you're going for trout and don't want to break the bank try the strike pro smelta's. Or to really not break the bank go with some small paddle tails 3" give or take.

Personally I wouldn't bother with cicadas. You'll catch more on hards or plastics.

Re: Ultra Light Braid

There's very few situations where the average punter needs less than pe0.8. Even then I wouldn't go lower than pe0.6.

With an fg I'm running down to 8lb comfortably on pe 0.8 and with pe0.6 I'll run as low as 4lb.

For general purpose stuff stick with pe0.8-1 and enjoy not popping at the braid.

Re: Shimano Jewel

That's a pretty good suggestion ducky, thanks. have you ever owned one of them? They used to be called tcurve revolution offshore and inshores and they were great rods. I've got a 904 travel one. Does the job nicely. I don't know if they've changed out the components. Cobby probably does. The old T...
