Re: Manage two this afternoon on the Patterson

The thing that sort of distinguishes it as a tupong to me it the eyes right on top of the head ( and it's size , looks like a baby one ). Tupong are sort of considered like a full on freshwater flathead, although a totally different species all together, but very close in look as in the eyes on top ...

Re: Manage two this afternoon on the Patterson

Still a nice day out , better than nothing. That small fish looks like a type of mudskipper, but it could be a tupong ?

Re: #1 Snapper fishng line in PPB used to be mono in my time

Good write up TackleNut, that is exactly how I remember it was going back to around the early 80's when 'Yibbada Yibbada Rex Hunt' was the fishing guru of ppb. Brings back good old memories. I still prefer mono for 99% of my fishing, as others mentioned, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I did find br...

Re: Looking at moving to Broome After Aust trip.

Well I've been baked enough years under this Aussie sun to call myself an Aussie, although I was born in Birmingham. I'll be online during the trip, so I'll be posting plenty of pictures and stories along the way of my adventures. By the time I have finished the planning of the trip , sold most of m...

Re: where to go away with family over school holidays

Hard to say depending on how old your kids are ? . But if they are pretty young , a good trip would be the following..... (maybe a bit old sites to some of us oldies , but still new and fun for young kids). And still fun as an adult if you haven't been to the places in years. This tip is planned on ...

Too right mate ;) . That fish owned me that day !, real bad, I'll never forget it , as it's rare to even catch one around 30cm in that river. Was the biggest I've seen in there and I couldn't catch it. Bangg

Re: Ridiculous price of fish hooks

And they don't really do anything a packet of gamakatsu or mustad hooks won't do for 1/4 the price. I've been using mustad hooks for about 25 years now (although I haven't bought any new hooks in over 15 years ), I've never had a problem with one, great hooks imo. After being very impressed with th...
