That’s a legendary trip. Catching tuna off the rocks is some achievement, doing it solo is just so much harder. Great bit of angling.

Re: Stony Pier
Nice catch of the pinkie snapper. I'm thinking of heading one of the nights this week on high tide for a gummy. Haven't tried properly for gummy so was wondering what rig suits. I have 20lb on main line surf rod. What line should I have on the leader and set up? Will try for squid on other rod whil...

Tide was absolutely bombing through but had the place almost to myself so no tangles. Managed a couple of early snapper, biggest one was 35cm. Then hooked up something big and slow. S...

That’s a cracking fish. Over the metre is fantastic, especially out of the yak. Still chasing my second one.

I do a lot of it from trout to sharks. It even works well from the boat.

Re: Float fishing and circle hooks
When you floatfish you have to have the rod in hand or very near. Its only if you leave the bite that you get gut hooked fish. I put everything back and thats one of the reasons I like float fishing, also im a lazy b@stard so hate constant lure casting.

Re: Kingfish Tips?
Prawn under a small float works. Will be tough landing one there, so many pylons and things to snag on.
