A long day out with a friend in a much bigger boat yesterday. Fished various spots as far as the pipeline. End was result was just 2 decent Flathead and a legal but not very big Gummy. Another upwelling. Currents running from the east out on the shelf. Forces cold water up out of Bass Canyon.
This is why there are millions of mackerel around

re-tyred do you put down a burley pot when chasing Gunnies or are they a by-product of drifting for Flatties. Also where is Petman's please? Fished sunday on the beach down near the Grange. Slow going managed 2 gummies. Let one go as it was just size. Had 3 flatties as well. Today went out to the reef for 6 snapper/ pinkies. Pelagic fish everywhere at the moment. Salmon along the cliffs at lakes, big ones amongst them. An odd kingfish getting caught too. Slimey mackerel are so thick offshore you get a string of them every drop on sabikis. Had a go at the pines for flatties but only small ones. Heard people did alright ...

I tried back of Flannagan, just two. One was a horse. 46cm over 1 kg.

I gave it a go today. Tried Woolaston bay. Lot of small bream. Moved to Carstairs bank for 0. Tried east of Raymond Is for ). went back to Woolaston and managed 2 large KGBs. Thought it was on but after that just small Bream again. Hard going this year for sure

Gave it another go today. No gummies. 3 good size flatties. Went out to the reef for 2 good snapper
