Re: Best Location for StingRays! Help!

IMO you're better off targetting snapper or Mulloway if you want a big fish, rays will come as bycatch.

Never heard of anyone using one for bait, but that doesn't mean it doens't happen.

Re: Best Location for StingRays! Help!

I've never actually heard of anyone specifically targetting them, usually they are by catch when fishing for something else. I'd guess any of the southern parts of the bay to be honest, as far as I know and have seen they are pretty much everywhere.

Re: Queen Birthday Present ... Almost

Reason I got gut hooked into this crazy and sometime mad past time (Just ask my missus) was exactly what you stated above. Had one hot session in Eden just with the mackerels and another one at Barwon Head on trevally, whitings and good old mullets and now I am definitely hooked for life ... The ye...

Re: Queens birthday weekend @ Aire river

Great report mate! That's a beautiful part of the world. There are actually ocean run trout a bit further upstream (upstream of the bridge from the GOR) and the beach there and also down at Johanna is an ace salmon spot, and from what i've heard good on gummies and jewies as well. Were you digging t...

Re: 12kg or 16kg for the big surf rod?

Dougie, I have an older model penn spinfisher 750ssm spooled with 30lb braid, 40lb shock leader that you would be welcome to borrow if I do go and your reel doesn't turn up in time. Ad. Sorry Ad that'd be great as a back up plan. I have an 8000 size spinfisher with cheapo kmart mono on it that I in...
