Hi Guys Was wondering to what extent everyone here guts their fish... in particular a large snapper. I remember hearing somewhere in the past that you should also remove the "gills" from the fish.... Looks interesting mate, have only tried anchored up....

Typically what size sinkers are you using matched to wind speeds? (Not sure I understand... are you saying use a sinker so your bait drifts to the bottom rather than out the back?)

Thanks for the tips guys, would have posted this yesterday but had a busy day once we got back from the water! ----- Ended up getting out on the water at about 4.30am (from Black Rock) and sounded around to Rickets point in about 7-17m of water. Still not an expert on reading a sounder but it looke...

There's no "X" marks the spot I'm afraid, get out early and sound around in reefy and well known spots is all you can do, once the boat traffic starts kiss your chances goodbye. For sure, exactly what we are finding out!.... I think a big part of our struggles has been thinking what we were seeing ...

Yep definitely after the snapper..... they are escaping all of my efforts recently... including charters and our own expeditions! Thanks for the tip, we were planning on heading out at 5am so we might start earlier.
