It has been posted on DPI in the passed.
They were investigating divers hand picking up to 5% of the biomass.
If it is economically viable it sounds like a good idea provided there is good management.

Re: new pier
Some of the smaller piers would certainly be good if they were extended.
Similarly some of the smaller ramps could be upgraded to include a lot more parking space and another couple of lanes.

Re: Great white sharks in PPB.
IMO the buckets of blood and guts is not required.
Some berley certainly helps, and last time I checked you were still allowed some but bucket and buckets and buckets as was commonly used in years passed makes very little difference.

Re: Great white sharks in PPB.
Interesting re the couta and arrow squid in the bay bringing in the sharks as we catch a lot of arrow squid in Corner Inlet and bass strait could be related to the number of sharks around as well.

Re: Sand crabs!!
There has been two other threads recently re crabs.
But yes I have seen a caught crabs at some of the beaches in southern PPB.
I have no doubt the crabs are also higher up in the bay as well.

Not sure mate, 25 years of fishing down there and we have accidently caught two, one in the inlet and the other outside.
Both released unharmed.

Re: Great white sharks in PPB.
Not sure about PPB but we have caught a white shark in Corner Inlet.
PS Rick the water temp in Bass Strait is currently higher than the bays.
