Ever since I have targeted one spot and fished it consistently you get a feel for the area and have better luck " wiring " the place, you get to know which part of the pier produces what .. I'm used to moving around trying different piers but concentrating in one place you soon learn what works and ...

Oh And I use a modified rope gaff to haul the heavier beasts up ..

That rock wall is in the perfect location between portarlington and queenscliff , looking at google earth the headland sticks out in some great water, I have lost count of the huge whiting I catch off the wall waiting for the snapper run ! squid beaten with a kitchen mallet and circle hooks in numbe...
