Lilydale Lake - General

Just so Cornacarpio's thread does not suffer too much "thread drift" - I thought I would just start a generic Lilydale lake thread that we can add to with tips and tricks for fishing this lake. 4liters is right - the lake is mostly just a flat, featureless bottom, about 2m deep apart from the submer...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Well done mate :gj: - I have heard there are fish to be had in the creek, both up and down stream of the lake, but never tried myself. Lilydale lake is one of those places that has frustrated the best of us. It is a tough lake to get consistent results from. Fisheries is stocking it more and more, wo...

Yarra @ Yarra Glen - 29thJan 2020

Better Yarra session this evening. Headed out to Yarra Glen, river still high and fast, but I managed to find some slower sections along the bank/snags. The river claimed its usual amount of tackle for this section, very snaggy. I was using a combination of corn, compost worms ans scrub worms. The c...

Re: Yarra Thread

G'day Ronan
I've also been fishing the Yarra of late - it is tough going even getting a bite. All I can put it down to is the amount of water still coming down stream.
Hopefully it will slow down a bit soon and the action will start again

Another Yarra donut session

Another donut session on the Yarra this evening. This time at Jumping Creek Reserve in Warrendyte. Scrub worms and corn for bait And not even the mozzies are biting. River is wider here and the flow is not as bad as at Yering. I still can't get over the fact I can't even get a carp on corn....... Di...

Re: Live from the Yarra - 25th Jan 2020

Gotta wait for the water to clear up a bit I guess I think it is more to do with the flow at present - normally by this time of year the level has dropped and flow slowed - but with all the recent rain it just has not happened. If we get a few weeks of no rain it should start to pick up again. Alth...

Re: Live from the Yarra - 25th Jan 2020

Not a long session this evening but time to call it quits.
Not even a bite, can't even tempt the carp to bite.
Another guy fishing the same area, using worms and sausage, also zero bites.

Oh better luck next time hopefully
