Hey guys,
Went on another trip with smokin reels to the same water we fished last time. The fishing action was hot but it was everything else that happened that made this a memorable trip.
Hope you enjoy the vid

Nice work. It always amazes me how well squid pull once they get over 40, completely different to the smaller models.

Cod Fishing with Smokin Reels
Hey guys, just put up a video from a session with smokin reels earlier in the year. One of the most enjoyable days I've had on the water in the long time with plenty of action to keep us fishing. https://youtu.be/7Dq6wsPCWms Slowly catching up on the edits but still have a fair bit of content from t...

I know you're with Yama Andrews but for options in sink rates keystone jigs are the best I've found. Most (if not all) of their jigs come in a range of sink rates and the sink rates are consistent across the different sizes

Re: What is the most important thing you'd spend $$$ on?
I think budget and style of fishing really determines priority. For sounders I have a helix 9 that I regularly use on my kayak but for small water cod fishing in summer I leave it off as it just gets in the way and provides no real value in this situation. That same sounder becomes an extremely valu...

Murray cod, Trout cod and Macquarie Perch
Hey guys, Its been a pretty hectic autumn for me so still editing videos filmed back in summer, this was a pretty special overnight trip where I managed to catch around 40 cod with a mix of murray cod and trout cod and picked up my first macquarie perch on lure and saw some others follow my lure rig...

Re: Freshwater rod - land based
What's your budget? Open water (lake) or river/streams? Get 7ft+ for lake fishing and shorter than 7ft for rivers and streams. 2-4kg is versatile, but I'd go even to 1-3kg. A lot more fun and easier to cast ultralight lures. 2000 reel and 4lb-6lb line. Depends on your budget, there's plenty of opti...

Re: SC knot vs FG knot. What do you use?
FG knot for everything for me atm, recently did some heavy fishing where we used PR knots for the leader so might have to learn how to tie them if I start doing that sort of thing more regularly
