Re: Is Fishing Allowed under newest lockdown measures

The Health minister and government are not opposed to people getting out and exercising as long as people adhere to the recommendations. Should you feel guilty going fishing - Absolutely not, unless you are not observing social distancing, washing hands etc. The ramifications of a total lockdown are...

Re: NSC20 - vegan friendly edition (almost)

You could do it on a calmer day with low winds and swell. The wind did pick up both days with headwinds. Sunday had winds gusting up to 22Kts but was manageable in a bigger yak but not in your 10' yak. The kings should be around till end Feb- early March depends on water temp and clarity but I'm not...

Re: Patto bream fishing and seal

Yeah, I was in Patto on Monday just having a yak with my wife and the stupid seal popped up near her kayak and she got a big fright.
I love seals, dolphins etc but not when I'm trying to fish.

Re: Mt Martha - 14/01 - Kayak

I find the Mussell Farm hit and miss, but I've done well heading out about 4k's in front of the Morno pier in about 21metres.
Most annoying part is how long it takes to pedal back :-D

Re: Crabbing off the surf at Seaspray?

Nah, you can catch them at Seaspray. Definitely heaps around and when it's a bit blown and lumpy while fishing they love to hop on your bait :( Not sure what the Reg's are, so just check them out. Seen people using a wire cage type net catching them. Throwing a net in May be classed as a fishing net...

Re: Soft Plastics Newbie

Braid for me all the way with lures 100% When you're trying not to spook the fish in shallow water as well and to get distance and remain undetected then Braid absolutely. Braid will get you casting further, is more sensitive to bites. Main drawbacks with braid can be tangles if you dont watch what ...

Re: Sinking re-bar into a cliff
Yes your initial advice could. No it’s no harm talking to people who do masonary drilling I do myself from time to time. You never specified angles etc but rebar will come loose over time if not set. Angles or not.
Of course I didn't spell it out for everyone, unfortunately I assum...

Re: Sinking re-bar into a cliff

Ok if I have spell it out for you blokes saying my advice will kill someone. Let me break it down for you :-) You WILL NOT be drilling horizontally but at an angle so coming out or falling out won’t happen unless the whole rock splits and even if you use DynaBolts, Ramset fasteners or any other anch...

Re: Sinking re-bar into a cliff

Get a good Battery powered Drill and some Diamond Core or Diamond tipped drill bits (Carbide tipped bits may work also) and some water to cool the bits down or keep them cool while drilling. It’s Not a quick job also depends on the type of rock material. I had some ceramic tiles I installed recently...
