Re: Landbased feed?
Full moon is not party time for squid. Hmm, thanks, was not aware of that with squid mate! The same can be said with trout...however I’ve found they do feed better after dark during a full moon. Do you find it similar with squid dude, or do they seem to shut down altogether? It’s interesting how mo...

Re: St Leonard's Report 09/03/2020
Squid are in spawning mode? Again? Must be a water temp thing, as I thought Oct/Nov was the time. There ya go! Water temp is a key factor for many species. It’s interesting how the snapper are coming back on the chew (which happens when water temps begin dropping back to prime feeding temp), and yet...

Re: Banjo Sharks- The almighty PEST
I feel your pain. Eagle rays and banjos do my head in, especially when they tangle lines and ruin beautiful fresh baits. Then there’s dog sharks during the colder months. It’s simply unwanted by-catch that fills in time between good fish. Just gotta suck it up unfortunately, but they can certainly t...

Re: Schools of roach
Plenty of the mud suckers still in Malmsbury and Lauriston Reservoirs. Summer is the better time of year. Traditional course fishing techniques would work a treat, burleying with pollard type mixes and using maggots or worm pieces as bait. You’ll sometimes see fly fishos getting amongst them around ...
Re: Rock life
Correct bud. The rod just won’t load up as well and therefore won’t cast the lighter lure as far. No issues otherwise Kage79.

Re: Kingies today
Good to hear from ya Mick! Sounds like you had a great morning on the water with some quality fish caught, well done mate. Once you find the kingie schools do you tend to cast to them with stick baits and the likes, or do you just troll around them? No redhunter...just troll through them . Only rea...

Re: Bertram 63' gets slammed crossing the bar during the 2020 Port Stephens
Picked the worst spot to cross from what I’ve heard, and boats a third of the size crossing a few hundy metres along had no issues. Apparently it bottomed out and the engines stalled, and a mayday call was made. The boat was declared a write-off after this mis-hap. What a waste!
