Re: Gummy Fishing (lang Lang /Jam jerrupland based...Advice for line etc..
Can't help you much with land based down there. I only chase gummies offshore. I use 20-30lb braid and 60lb leader. Can use lighter but chances offshore of something bigger coming along I light to go a bit heavier. I use 6/0 hooks. My favourite hook is a mutsu circle. But anything circle is the go i...

Should of really been 8 if there weren't 2 seals hanging off my bowrail! When they are on the chew out there can't get enough baits in the water sometimes.Fish-Hunter wrote:1 hrs fishing & 5 Pinkies, you done well

I was stuck working at lakes all day looking at the water getting depressed I wasn't out there. I've been keen to try out my new sounder. So knocked off early enough to go hook the boat up and head out for a quick run before dark. Ended up with 5 pinkies in the esky and lost 3 to sammy the seel. Got...

Re: Lakes entrance snapper.
That's a mighty impressive catch, do you anchor up & berly or do you drift? I don't have a winch on my boat & the anchor is setup for PPB where I fish in the evenings & have quiet a length of heavy chain so it wont pop out of the mud when the sea breeze comes in (often 20 knots). I use a float to r...

Re: Lakes entrance snapper.
Cheers fellas. Just fished the 6 mile. Kimtown. Na the pink fish is definitely a flying gurned. It looks a bit like a Sargent baker in the photo but fold its wings out definitely a gurned. Re-tyred. Good to hear you have been getting a few. Winter time normally fishes well. This time last year I had...

Lakes entrance snapper.
Hi guys being new here thought I'd try an add something worth while. Had a recent trip off lakes and got amongst a few fish. Few flaties, leather jacket and a flying gurned to go with the pinkies. My sounder died as we were heading out so was lucky to even get a feed. Anyways new sounder on board so ...

Re: LE Report
If you are sounding up fish I'm 1 for trying not to move around heaps. Let the fish come to you instead of chasing them around all day but failing. Yeah it's good in winter with the couta not in plague numbers and smaller in size. If you want 1 for bait send a silver wobbler to the bottom and wind i...

Re: LE Report
Good stuff mate. It would of been glass out there today. You just have to fight off the rubbish out there to get amongst the snapper. But when they are on the chew they are on. Did you fish the tide change on the reef?
