Re: TWO CARS SEIZED FOR UNDERSIZE SNAPPER HAULS
Selfish greed. They’re not fisherman, they are thieving junkies. Seafood junkies, who take everything. What are you going to get off an 18cm fish once the head and tail is taken out of the equation? Why bother? Send them back. They can go suck on a bait bag if they’re that desperate!

Re: Ya gotta laugh
From my understanding they’re spread right along the coast, and the bulk of them are sitting off Anglesea area, so surprised you didn’t hook up Yota! Good on ya for having a crack though mate. You would have clocked up a few kms going to Lorne and back. Shame you didn’t even score a kingie on that t...

I’d call that a success personally Wolly! Reckon I’d be much happier with that than school tuna. Barrels on the other hand, well...
Have you been getting down to Portland at all? Been wrestling any kingies down there this season mate?

Re: Quick change rig with Snap swivels?
Keep doing what you’re doing Dean, you’re on the right track pal. A few things to consider... Trout can see well enough to dismiss a fly if it does not look natural enough to them. This being said, they can certainly see a snap swivel, and this could easily act as a deterrent to them. Many fishos ac...

Re: Tell me about fishing for gars
Interesting a few people have mentioned silverfish. The guy at the tackle shop told me silverfish were great as long as they were the tiny ones. He said for some reason the bigger ones cut into small pieces never worked very well for him. Sounds like dispersal of the burley might be one of the issu...

Re: Tell me about fishing for gars
4L - Assuming you will be fishing them as dead baits, if some of the gars you are catching are too big for your liking, you can always run a fillet off them or butterfly them. Just a thought mate...

Re: Tell me about fishing for gars
Nice fat juicey gars mate, and decent flatty too as bonus. Small gars my favourite bait for snappers but I usually just scoop them at night in weedy shallows like some already mentioned. I'm landbase so not sure how they go during the day but I know best bait for them are silverfish, maggots or eve...

Re: Lithium Boat Battery
Considering the headaches involved with simply freighting lithium batteries, due to them being being unstable and susceptible to igniting, there’s no chance I would personally put one in a boat. Pros - lighter in weight and you can get more out of them. Cons - may burn your boat down. You must be r...
