Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

will insurance pay out? well I guess this is wear and tear so I don't have high hopes on insurance paying out. very happy with the bar crusher after taking it out in pretty rough conditions, we want to go Ali this time and barcrusher is the best option we have found (surtees and extreme too expensi...

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

IMO you shouldn't give up yet as it may not cost as much to fix as you think. BTW what maybe the next boat? getting a bar crusher 670ht. been on the cards for a while and we have been looking to sell the seafarer for a while, so I don't think it is worth investing the money in repairing the boat ju...

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

Rot in that area is very uncommon might be worth looking into how it happened. Also take a good look at all of the foam is will probably be water soaked and stuffed. just gonna trade it in or sell to someone who has the time and effort required to re-do the floor, we have been meaning to get a new ...

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

Well turns out the sub floor from the captains seat forwards is rotted, hence fiberglass flex causing the crack, and in turn ripping up the floor we already replaced.

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

What was the repair last time, just the floor or complete stringer replacement? Out of interest what was the foam like? I have seen a quite a few foam filled boats where the closed cell foam that has turned to a watery soup and resulted in rot. Good luck with the repair hopefully it goes ok. In reg...

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

That being said the photo indicates the crack is not where load applied on the hull from a roller and I am not sure I believe the manufactures reasoning for the hull failures. BTW is this the second time the hull has cracked? First time, but it seems like it has been going for a while and only just...

Re: Worst bermi trip ever :(

She's a fiberglass Seafarer Victory 5.9 bout 20 years old. No real heavy bumps, didn't hit anything (we think). After taking to the local fiberglass bloke he seems to think that the crack may have been there for a while but it only just fully opened. Possibly due to the flex in the hull because of t...

Worst bermi trip ever :(

Headed up to bermi last friday (22nd) for a week. day one went out to montague with reports of firing kingies. Not a peep, no one caught anything and no kingies back at the ramp. Put the boat back on the trailer, took plugs out and proceeded to watch half the ocean pour out of the bilge :???: A quic...

Re: 2014 Yellowfin 6900 halfcab help

Also allow a further 10k on top of the listed price just for electronics and any other extras you want to throw on. 65k is the bare basic boat, motor, trailer package. throw in trim tabs, lights, sounder, digital guages, 175hp upgrade, electric winch, deckwash, (i'd also opt for an aliminuim traile...

Re: BERMI TRIP

Nice work. Shame you didn't get into a marlin but there's always next time!! Heading up there next week so hopefully the conditions improve. Thanks for the report. The current has backed right off now so that should improve the fishing, the kingfish are also starting to fire up around montague isla...
