Yeah the minimum size is 60cm,it was 50,then 55 and now 60 to come into line with the nsw reg's. For eating around about the 50 is the best size,but the 60 was bought in to allow the fish to hopefully complete a breeding cycle before reaching a takeable size. It's a shame to see a fish of that size ...

Was thinking of heading up to my mates at mathoura for a fish & a few frothys on sat,but just had a look at the weather for deni, 43 sat :o & 40 sun,might give it a miss, be bloody hot in the boat & i've found that when it gets that hot the fish are a bit like us,they lose interest in doing to much....

A far safer option is the daughterless carp project,it got more funding back in august from the LMDCMA for another 3 years,while it is still a long term project,they are making headway and hope it is 5-7 years away.I personally would rather they take their time with this than releasing a virus type ...

Don't take this the wrong way scott but i am going to ask you a question Were the fingerlings obtained through a licenced hatchery? If the answer is no you may have been "done" (diseased fish) Rainbow trout aren't the easiest of fish to breed/grow out,hence the dpi mainly stock brown's Top survival ...
