Re: PORT PHILLIP BAY SOUTHERN BLUE FIN TUNA

Unpopular opinion: first part of the clip is leaving Queenscliff, then edit and the rest is Portland In the last few seconds, it is possible to see a lighthouse and jetty. and that resembles Point Lonsdale. If you look at his portland video, he is using Tiagras. In this video he is using eggbeaters.

Could only do that in a Stabicraft
For a 14 foot tinny I was impressed with how little lean the boat gave when the guy and fish was on one side, a standard tinny would have leaned way more.
You can add a Kapsten boat collar to a standard tinnie and it has the same effect as the stabi craft.

Frustrating

Safety is extremely important for anglers and boaters and kayakers and divers/snorklers. It is frustrating trying to chase up details about what contributed to a persons injury/accident/death whilst engaging in activity on the water. The Coroner does publish it's findings, usually months or years af...

Re: Diver killed by speeding boat

We boat off flinders a bit and we do the pick up and drop off at the low deck, and there are always divers there, most of the times with flags, but if u need to drop off or pick up how do you stay 100 M from that? I have gone out of the heads and head towards the HMAS Canberra, when I see a dive bo...

Re: Diver killed by speeding boat

The scuba diver who was struck and killed by a speed boat on Port Phillip Bay on Sunday was using a buoy and flag to ensure he was visible while underwater. Two men in their 20s were spearfishing a few hundred metres out in Canadian Bay off Mount Eliza about 1pm on Sunday afternoon when one was hit ...

Re: Diver killed by speeding boat

Sad outcome. But dont always blame the boat guy straight away. Many a time I have seen divers without flags . And even with flags they can be hard to see. Add some choppy conditions and it's a suicidal mission for the divers. Not to mention snorkelers that shouldn't be in areas where there's high b...

Diver killed by boat

In the news tonight a diver has been run over and killed by a speed boat.
His body was bought to Frankston Pier.
This is really tragic.

Re: Protecting our GPS Marks and Fishing Spots from others

In regards to fishing spots, even two exact same rods rigs baits etc next to each other at the same can have different results. That's when angling skills come in play on how to catch more than the others. The bay isn't expanding or shrinking, good chance that good spots are also known by other peo...
