Re: Where to catch Bronzies landbased.

Balcombe Beach Mt Martha. Some guys got a decent one a few years back. But in seriousness, any unobstructed Surf beach is a reasonable chance, or if you get a reasonable day any of the assorted south facing rock ledges. Thanks for that. I used to fish from Mt Martha to Rye pier but the boats became...

There’s a ledge just south of walkerville that would be a good spot for them. Not so good for floating a balloon out because of the way the wind swirls over the cliff but it would be fine for a drone
Thanks mate, I'll check it out on Google Maps.

Do you reckon there'll be boat traffic there?

Where to catch Bronzies landbased.

I'm looking for some advice for landbased Bronzies nearer to home. Ninety Mile beach is getting a hammering, and unpredictable with the conditions. I'm looking for somewhere a bit closer, maybe Westernport and head east to Cape Liptrap. I'll be droning baits out so I wont be needing easy access to d...

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman

Haven’t been there for ages … can you still get to Greggo’s pole ? :) Haha. Sadly no, that area's been closed off for a while now. I fished that section last week in the yak and had a chuckle to myself. There was quite a large crew fishing the Docks back in the day. A few of the now high profile gu...

Well done mate. Great write up - always good to read about people starting out - those first few fish you’ll remember forever - just a massive buzz :)

Good on you for persisting so long
Bringing back a few memories Dave...? ;-)

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman

Well done mate you're persistence certainly paid off.
Your next problem will be dealing with your Docks addiction, mine lasted about 10 years!

What Sebb said x2.

Re: Melbourne's worst bream fisherman

The way the Yarra is at the moment, dirty and fresh, keeps the fish on the bottom. By far the most productive method for the Docks is using the Ecogear VX 35 or the Strikepro A18 vibes. Drop it next to a pylon and give it a couple of quick lifts (about 200mm max) and then pause. Repeat at least 30 o...

Good onya. That's a far better way for disposal instead of stinking out the bins, or throwing it into the scrub.

Better invest in a kiddie swimming pool and a whipper snipper motor soon if you want to blend in with the locals for the summer frenzy..
It may be a dumb question...why the motor?
