Hey Db I was there Sunday before last to fish the arvo runout,took home15 fish to 38cm,they didn't come on till around 5pm but went nuts for a hour or so with the bigger ones closer to dark

What was the size like Db?the last couple trips there was a good number of smaller tings around 29-30cm,I don't usually keep any under 30

On the subject of whiting on a float I have caught them with that method over dense weed beds in shallow at Quiet corner at Black Rock

Get yourself a hand held fish finder for a start. They are very good and can help a lot when fishing a new spot. Other than that, I try to avoid anything Daiwa. I second that,couple years ago bought a Daiwa egg rod and about 2months later it just snapped while casting the lure so no more Daiwa for me
