Metal slugs? What would you get on them?
Pike, couta, salmon and other pelagic fish. Popular choice for anglers off piers. Keep in mind that they work much differently to plastics.

Re: Best Lure?

Thanks for your reply dazz999. I had a look at soft plastics and jigheads, but generally the pair is about $20...Is there a cheaper option? Just went to Kmart. They have these $5 jig heads(6 a pack) :a_goodjob: , and their plastics are about $11 a pack. Just bought some of the cheap jig heads, my o...

I think I’m going to use her remains for scientific research and a dissection as I have never fully disassembled a fishing reel and seen what inside.

R.I.P fishing reel. Only had 1 year of service. She was young, too young. Nevertheless, she made me proud.

Gday mate, we went together on the day. All fish were caught on pillies. Looked like we were quite lucky :a_goodjob: . Over 3 days the only fish caught by other fishos was a couta and some mullet. :water:

Re: Rhyll landbased tomorrow - any advice?

Hello, I’m no expert but I can tell you the experience I’ve had after 1 trip a Rhyll jetty (about 1 year ago). We used quite light tackle, 1/0 circles, long shanks with relatively small sinkers. I think we were using squid and we would just cast out (not very far), hold on and lift with bites. With ...

Re: Carp preparation

Lol my family (Chinese) often get carp straight out of the original water source and end up cooking them whole in a soup/broth with ZERO fear of the bones no matter how small the fish. They can take whole mouthfuls of carp and just magically start dispensing bones one after another. Nearly all fresh...
