I just seen on fb about a brand called drop bear that have pedal kayaks for under 1500 bucks.

If I were you I'd wait till the Melbourne boat show and have a good look at the boats there on display.

Nice man. My first over 40 was also a 43 hahaha, and about the same time of the year 5 or so years ago. Gotta love those monster lunges... Ill never forget my first monster which I dropped from being new to the game, being caught off guard at how strong they pull and how heavy they feel in the water...
