St Leonard’s 5/11
With Clifton springs being quiet lately headed over to st Leonard’s to fish the arvo tide. Two drifts got us 7 quality squid. Whiting were very finiky but ended up with 20 odd to 44cm before trying for reds out the front of the pier only to add a couple of ting and yakka to the our bag

With the best weather forecast for tuesday, no rain . Anybody going to launch with thousands of others tomorrow.? Every year I say I will not fish cup day...but I always end going... Werribee was a mess last year. So might hit Clifton early. Clifton been pretty tough snapper wise most boats fishing...

Got out in the bay for the first time in a long time on the 21st at 10am. Launched out of Clifton Springs and got on to a few small squid just out front pretty quickly with old faith full gold top and dark bottom jig. Only had a few hours as I had my greenhorns on board so just decided to go straig...

Anyone heard much on the snapper around Mornington area heading over there hopefully next couple of weeks to have a look. Plenty of reports from carrum could bit early for that way.

Snapper donuts
Headed out for my first snapper trip for the year yesterday arvo. Sounded heaps along Wilson’s spit channel missed three good hits but nothing. Used fresh squid and fresh salted pillies. Always next trip. Anyone been getting a few?

Went out this morning with 2 snapper rods 2 whiting rods and 2 squid setups hoping for a mixed bag. First 45 mins very quiet only 3 squid then went to chase the whiting got plenty but only 3 worth keeping and a few alright flatties then a quick one in the tide change for snapper sounded up good arch...

Snapper fishing best of st Leonard’s after Xmas when bay water temps rise fish are out deep 20m plus. This time of year and next few months better of fishing Clifton springs/outer harbour area. That area gets very busy during October/November stay away from the boats sound up find your own fish. I s...
